Three Fuel Efficient Technologies For Motorbikes

The excitement of riding a motorbike has attracted people of all ages and walks of life for decades. From the young girl dreaming about riding her own scooter to the hard-core biker on his Harley, the feeling of wind in the face and freedom of the open road have been drawing more and more folks every year to buy their own motorbike.

Trying to find the perfect motorbike can be difficult. But with so many styles and designs to choose from, you’ll be able to find one that’s right for you. In addition to considering design, engine capacity and brand, there are also other considerations to think about. Today, when everyone is trying to do their bit for the environment, you should also consider how eco-friendly your two-wheeled counterpart will be. That’s because vehicles are responsible for fossil fuel consumption and the emission of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide.

If you can cover the same distances in the same time every day, save on gas, and have some fun while you’re doing it, why wouldn’t you buy a motorbike? Add to that the government incentives for buying a fuel-efficient vehicle and you have some compelling arguments. On top of all that, motorbike insurance is cheaper than car insurance.

There’s a significant difference between the size and weight of a motorbike and that of a car. When you take both into account, you can see why they burn less petrol and emit fewer greenhouse gases. Some bikes offer even better efficiency with different designs.

V-twin cylinder A motorbike’s engine may have different types of cylinders. You’ll come across single cylinders and the parallel twin, but none is as efficient as the V-twin. If you get a motorbike with a V-twin cylinder, you’ll save a lot more than just time in traffic jams-you’ll save money and fossil fuels too!

Diesel Bikes: Is a diesel bike more fuel efficient than a petrol-powered motorbike? In many ways they are. You’ll get more miles on a tank of fuel and there’s less motor for a diesel engine, making them easier to fix when they break down. There’s also a fuel called clean diesel that has a very small environmental impact.

Digital Twin Spark-Swirl Induction (DTS-Si): An average motorbike has one spark plug. Newer models come with two. The digital twin spark-swirl induction system has an electronic component that helps the bike burn fuel more efficiently. Look for this system to come standard with most new models in the future.
