- Have a late night on the eve of your test. You are going to be more likely to fail your test if you are tired when you take it and this is exactly what will happen if you do not get enough sleep the night before. You really need to get sufficient sleep before taking your test to improve your chances of success.
- Hit the pubs and get drunk on the night before your test. Drinking too much alcohol the night before could harm your performance in the test and it could also make you over the legal limit the next day when you are driving. Failing your test could be a minor problem if you were to try to drive a car while still under the influence of alcohol. Avoid all alcoholic beverages in the twenty four hours before the test.
- Turn up late for your test or turn up about a minute before the time. Not only can this mean that you miss your chance to test, but even if you do make it just in time you won’t be in any mental condition to perform well on the test. If you are rushing to get to the test centre then you will probably be feeling very stressed and this could mean you start making mistakes during the test. You have much more chance of being relaxed if you have had time to sit in the centre before you are called.
- Study with minutes to go before the theory test. You are going to get stressed if you try to study up to the last minute. You should know what you need to know the day before the test because anything you read just before the test is unlikely to stick in your mind.
