The previous version of motorisation of 2.8i BMW X1 was released on an average consumption of 9.4 liters per cent. We are talking about urban consumption at 13 liters per cent said, while extra-urban environment was covered with a consumption of 7.3 liters per cent. CO2 emissions have decreased by 16% compared to the previous model, reaching 183 grams per kilometer.
If we refer to those values, we can say that only Audi had a more effective engine on the Q5 3.2 FSI, which had an average consumption of 9.3 liters per cent, while Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 4MATIC have an average consumption of 10.5 liters per cent, Volvo XC60 3.2 AWD and have an average consumption of 9.9 liters per cent. But things have changed.
With the waiver of two-cylinder engine and the fitting with a twin-scroll turbine that provides a maximum boost of 1.3 bar and a high precision injection system that can “blow” petrol with a pressure of 200 bar (the higher possible in its class), called 2.8i the motorisation efficiency increased dramatically.
We are talking now of an average consumption of 7.9 liters per cent, applies to the manual transmission version and the version with automatic transmission. It should be noted that the rivals consumption figures are announced with automatic transmission versions, but those models are not offered in the same configurations compared with a manual transmission, such as X1.
Even with an automatic transmission, X1 xDrive28i would still be the most economical model in its segment. The urban consumption announced is 9.9 liters unit percent tested manual transmission, that is 10.4 for the eight-speed automatic transmission.
Extra consumption is 6.7 liters per cent for manual transmission, 6.4 liter respectively for the automatic transmission, hence the same value for mixed use. In the test, they applied a sporty driving style to enjoy the maximum engine performance, which led to an average consumption of 12 liters per cent.
