The Caravan carved out a whole new market as it was the first minivan to go into production in 1984. With comfortable seating for seven, it still managed good mileage.

The awesome V10 Viper and popular Ram pickup carried the company into the 90′s. Daimler bought controlling interest in the company later in the decade, but eventually sold its interest to a private equity firm. In recent times, trouble again beset auto makers, and this company together with General Motors filed bankruptcy. Fiat then bought a majority interest in the company.
