Chinese BYD launches a new copy: replica of the Porsche Cayenne and a copy of the Lexus RX Hybrid

Hawtai B35 is the Chinese name of the newest kids on sale. It is an SUV that plagiarizes old generation of the Porsche Cayenne platform using the old Hyundai Santa Fe.

The Chinese desire to impress can reach unimaginable limits, even now when European audiences got used with failed plagiarism models. The Chinese demonstrates perseverance and continues to bring on the market copies of famous models from the old continent.

This time it’s Hawtai time to expose SUV B35, a clone less successful of the old generation Porsche Cayenne, which tries not to lose sight of any element of luxurious and oversized German model.

The model from the Great Wall country takes over the old platform from Hyundai Santa Fe, but changing it in order to obtain a wheelbase of 262 cm. The platform comprises a body patterned after the old Cayenne, with lots of chrome parts, a large imposing grille and a set of 20 inch wheels.

At the debut, under the hood, will be placed a single engine, a gasoline unit, 1.8-liter turbo, provided by Chinese manufacturer SAIC. Also from SAIC, Hawtai will lend later on the diesel units of 2.0 liters and 2.8 liters.

Hawtai unveiled the new B35 SUV this spring in Beijing Auto Show, but just now the Chinese have managed to place on the market to sell a copy of the Porsche Cayenne model.

BYD Manufacturer, the only China’s representative in Detroit, launched in the U.S. salon the S6 DM model, a copy of the Lexus RX, powered by a hybrid assembly.

Try as they might, but it seems that Asian manufacturers can not escape the syndrome of plagiarism, and the latest creation from BYD, named DM S6 is bringing strikingly with the current generation Lexus RX in the front and slightly less with the Porsche Cayenne rear.

BYD claims that DM S6 model is the first dual-mode SUV. As the official statement, it promises a range of 60 miles in electric mode only, while the conventional propeller guarantees other 440 kilometers.

BYD speaks optimistically about the launch of the new S6 DM on the U.S. market, where it expects a good reception. However, the experts does not share the same opinion as they can’t see a future for this model, beyond the ocean.
