A European Holiday Worth Driving For

If you are planning to go on a vacation, a holiday package is the best way to travel, if you are looking for an effortless vacation that allows you to sit on the beach or at the poolside. When you get to the airport, you would board your flight or get a transfer. For some people, this is the best holiday; while for others, they like to drive and enjoy the scenery. If you are driving on your vacation in order to enjoy the sights and experience the culture, you have to compare car insurance for your road trip. You could consider a drive from the city of London over to the city of Lisbon, capital of Portugal. Here are some ideal stops along the way:

Day One: London to Paris – 288 miles The drive from London to Paris is about five hours and 26 minutes. It will take you through the mainland of Europe. Your journey would begin in the early morning hours so that you can have enough time to get to Paris in order to have fun and visit the main attractions such as the Eiffel Tower. You don’t have to rush it when you are taking this road trip. Consider adding an extra day if you like.

Day 2: Paris to Bordeaux – 362 miles If you take the drive from Paris to Bordeaux, it will be approximately five hours and 21 minutes. However, you could just take in the scenery of the countryside instead of thinking about going to see the Eurotunnel. If you go on the A10 and follow it, this will take you through Orleans and Poitiers, which is oftentimes very near to the La Loire River.

Day 3: Bordeaux to Valladolid – 357 miles By the time you get to the end of the third day in your travels, you could be in Valladolid, which is located in Spain. This trip last for five hour and 41 minute journey and you get to go through the coastal regions close to Bayonne before you get to Spain. When you arrive at Valladolid, you could also go down to Madrid for an additional day before continuing your trip to Portugal.

Fourth day: Valladolid to Lisbon – 366 miles When you get to the fourth day of your journey, you should be in Portugal; the capital city of Lisbon would take you approximately five hours and 53 minutes. During this segment of the journey, you will see some spectacular views. You will go through Guarda, a popular city in Portugal.

If you use up four days to drive both ways, that would be 8 days out of your two week vacation. You would have enough time to do other things.
