Installing An Amplifier Into Your Car
Most car audio systems fall short of expectations, and car owners resort to using an amplifier for better performance. An amplifier has two uses.
An amplifier has either of two functions. It can be used to power the speakers that are in the cabin of the car or they can be used to power a sub-woofer in the boot of the car.
Either way, there will be a great improvement in your stereo system.
It really isn’t too difficult to install an amplifier in the car. All it would take is some idea of electrical wiring to install amplifier in either the speakers or sub-woofer. The first thing to do would be to connect the wires to the back of the stereo. This involves taking the stereo out of the dash so you can access the RCA plugs at the back of the stereo. Depending on the amount of channels the amplifier has, usually 4 or 2, there will be 2 RCA plugs. You need to plug these RCA cables into the back of the stereo. Next, plug the remote wire also at the back of the stereo. This remote wire is to turn on and off the amplifier in consonant with the stereo.
After the plugs are attached to the back of the stereo, the wires should reach the boot of the car. In doing this, course the wires inside the car in the floor or side panels so it will not be easily seen. Next would be to attach the ends of the wire to the amplifier terminals. You should not interchange wires as all sockets in the amplifier are tagged accordingly. Once the wires are in you simply need to wire up the speaker wires to your sub-woofer or your speakers and test the sound. If there is no sound you need to back track and see where you went wrong. If you are satisfied with the sound quality, you may now securely install the amplifier to prevent any movement when the car is in motion. Try to install yourself the amplifier of your car so you don’t have to pay for the services of an expensive car audio installer.
